About Fred
Fred Mariscal, a proud 1st Generation American, has built a fifteen year record of service in multiple communities around the city of Los Angeles. He currently serves as:
Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council Board Member.
As a Budget Representative and Outreach Committee Chair, he has worked to bring local government closer to the residents of his Council.
Vice Chair of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Coalition.
In this elected position he has taken up the cause for more transparency in government, better quality of life in our City, and increasing the voice of the Neighborhood Council System.
Founder of his Neighborhood Watch Program.
He understands that residents and the LAPD need to work together to protect our neighborhoods and keep them safe. That’s why he founded this program. He was successful in persuading Paramount Studios to donate the funds to put the neighborhood signs in place.
Fred Mariscal was born and raised in Mexico City. He came to Los Angeles where he received a degree from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California in 1996. Fred is currently Vice President of Pluribus Media an integrated marketing firm in Los Angeles.
In 2005 he was elected Vice President of Finance for the California Young Democrats. He has also served on the Board of Governors of The Human Rights Campaign, the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (LAGLCC), and The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC).
More recently Council Member Mitch O’Farrell has nominated Fred to a seat on the Central Area Planning Commission; and he is also a graduate of the Los Angeles Fire Department’s CERT program.
Fred Mariscal took residence in the Larchmont Village neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2000, where he his adopted labrador retriever Boomer look forward to stewarding the future of our great city.
